Tobin James Cellars
Anyone who travels to Paso Robles to wine taste notices this winery on the left side of Highway 46, 8 miles east of the town. It sits among 71 acres of vineyards and rolling hills. It was built in 1994 on the site of an old stagecoach stop. I felt like I was in a saloon about to order a whiskey or beer (two drinks which I would never order BTW)! But we did try two whites, a rose' and one red wine!
This is a 2010 Sauvignon Blanc "Sundance" ($14). It has kiwi aromas with a delicious crispness.
We also tried the 2011 Chardonnay "Radiance" ($16) from Monterey County. Luscious tropical flavors overwhelm your senses.
The next two are 2010 Chateau Le Cacheflo ($11.50) which is a red blend with a Mediterranean flair. I bought one of these to take home.
The other bottle in the pic is a 2012 Syrah Rose' "Paradise" ($16). It has bright strawberry aromas blending with refreshing peach and berry flavors. I also bought this one.
This was our 8th and final winery for the day! We were dead tired and hungry for something besides crackers and cheese! Headed back to Bakersfield now!
Enjoy!
