#Larson_Family Winery #3 of the 2013 Winecation

Fun, Family Friendly-Larson Family Winery

After leaving Scribe and stopping at a quaint deli on Napa Road/8th St., we headed to Larson Family Winery with all of our food for a picnic. We had heard that there was a great place out back of the tasting room to eat, play lawn games, view the vineyards, and taste wine!
Behind the picnickers, you can see a beautiful lawn for games such as Ladder Golf, Bocce Ball, and Bean-Bag Toss! They have three friendly labs, Sunny, Bubba, and Pete that roam the property welcoming the guests while they picnic/taste.

Here's our group minus me behind the camera!

The wines we tasted are as follows:
The 2011 Pinot Grigio ($22) is a dry, clean white wine.
The 2010 Millerick Road Chardonnay ($23) is crisp and clean and pairs well with fruits, vegetables, and light meats.
The 2012 Gewurztraminer ($20) is a rich, complex Alsatian style with a touch of sweetness.
We tasted a 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon ($42) that was fruit forward and every taste was different ranging from vanilla, blackberry, cassis, coffee and finishes with chocolate and vanilla.
This is the Three Lab Cab ($25) named for Sunny, Bubba, and Pete! It is a rich, full-bodied Cab, yet smooth. It's a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Syrah, and Cabernet Franc.

The last wine is a 2009 Millerick Road Meritage ($33). I couldn't find any tasting notes and I didn't have any myself. Obviously it is a red blend I think of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Visit Larson Family Winery for a picnic and enjoy their wines, play games, walk in the vineyards, and have fun!
