Remembering Last Summer Wine Trips!

It's that time of the year when families are vacationing at the beaches, in the mountains, and theme parks. I know it's about to get really hot around Dallas and it makes me want to escape the heat and enjoy some cool wineries. So last summer I enjoyed the beaches, mountains, and Disneyland in California with my oldest granddaughters. We had a blast and then we headed to the mountains of Sonoma and its wineries! Don't be fooled into thinking that they didn't have a blast at the wineries! They did!

The first place we always stop by in Sonoma is Moondance Cellars located in Glen Ellen, CA. We LOVE the owners, Dave and Priscilla Cohen. They have been friends of Don's forever! They hold a special place in our wine hearts because they are such good people and very hospitable. I've got a lots to share about them for many other blogs.

This June, we will be headed out to Sonoma again with two other couples to enjoy the wines of Santa Rosa, where we are staying, and the surrounding wine regions.

Speaking of Moondance Cellars, they have fantastic wines in their tasting room! Their Chardonnay is to die for and the Cabernet Sauvignon doesn't get any better than that!

This is their 2010 20th Anniversary Merlot! So good!
Another cool thing about this little area is Wine Country Chocolates that is right next door!

This is the building where the tasting room and the chocolates are located!

The chocolates just enhance the flavors of the Moondance Cellars wine! It is a must stop for both the tasting room and the chocolate on your way into Glen Ellen, CA

Enjoy and watch for more to come about the Cohens!
